To start making our 3D Cardboard Roll Fish, you will first have to collect clean toilet paper cardboard rolls. Cut each one in 3. You’ll also need acrylic paints in multiple bright colors, a black marker, small googly eyes, scissors, and glue. I didn’t realize that my daughter had used all my liquid school glue to make slime, so we used glue sticks instead.
Whether standing up or swimming along, these fish are sure to make you happy!
Colorful Cardboard Roll Fish
Supplies needed:
- clean cardboard rolls
- acrylic paints in assorted colors
- black marker
- small googly eyes
- glue
- scissors
Start by cutting a clean toilet paper cardboard in thirds. Use 2 cardboard rolls for 6 fish. Paint each a different color. You will need to make at least 2 fish at a time, so you can mix the fin colors with the other fish. Let dry.
Pinch the open cardboard roll on both ends so it’s flat. Cut out triangles along the tail fin of each fish. Also cut a smaller triangle for the mouth.
Mark 4 lines with the black marker along the tail fin.
Glue 2 fins from the triangles of a different colored fish on both sides of body. Glue googly eyes, too. Glue tail together, where the triangles were cut, too. Puff out remainder of tail and body.
