3D Paper Plate St. Patrick’s Day Crafts
I have a few more St Patricks Day crafts idea before the day of green and gold arrives! This time, we’re making our pretty awesome 3D Paper Plate St. Patrick’s Day Crafts!
Our 3D Paper Plate St Patricks Day Crafts are quite simple to make, as most of what we do around here is. So simple, in fact, that we’ve even made two completely different designs with the same concept.
There’s the Leprechaun Hat Craft using green cardstock, a small paper plate painted orange, and some green glitter with a hat buckle made of a square of black and a smaller yellow. Then, because leprechauns are always after their pot o’ gold, we have a Pot O’ Gold Paper Plate Craft, too. This one uses a small plate painted green, black and yellow cardstock with yellow or gold glitter.
3D Paper Plate St. Patrick’s Day Crafts
Supplies needed:
- small, dessert-size paper plates
- orange and green acrylic paint
- green, black, and yellow cardstock
- green and yellow/gold glitter
- 1†hole punch
- glue stick
- scissors
First, paint your plates. An orange for the Leprechaun Hat, green for the Pot O’ Gold. Let dry.
For the Leprechaun Hat, you will need a thin rectangle of green cardstock as well as a larger rectangle. Bend just the edges back. Apply glue stick to the front of the thin rectangle and sprinkle with yellow/gold glitter. Cut a square from the black cardstock and a smaller square from the yellow for the buckle. Glue the yellow square inside the black square and adhere to the thin green rectangle. Let glue dry.
Apply glue stick to the bottoms of the folded edges and adhere the larger rectangle to the center of the paper plate so that the middle is raised. Do the same with the thinner rectangle towards the bottom of the hat, making it slightly larger so that it goes around like a brim.
For the Pot O’ Gold, cut a rectangle of black cardstock. Bend just the edges. Apply glue to the folded edges and glue to the center/bottom of the green plate.
Punch circles from the yellow cardstock. Apply glitter to some. Glue towards the top of the black cardstock, like the pot is overflowing. Cut a very thin, longer piece of black cardstock. Adhere one end to each side of the pot for a handle.
