4 Leaf Clover Butterfly Craft
Sometimes, the best crafts are the simplest. And sometimes, they also start out as an idea completely different than how they end up. For our 4 Leaf Clover Butterfly Craft, we started off making pencil toppers. That didn’t work quite as well as I hoped, though. They were just boring and missing something. That’s when my daughter noticed they’d make great butterflies.
And so we have a Pipe Cleaner 4 Leaf Clover Butterfly Craft, the luckiest batch of butterflies on the block!
For these, simply wrap a long green pipe cleaner around itself until you make a 4 leaf clover. Then take another color pipe cleaner and wrap it around, leaving just enough for antennas. Add some googly eyes and you have a really cute butterfly that takes only a few minutes to make.
4 Leaf Clover Butterflies
Supplies needed:
- long green pipe cleaners
- pipe cleaners in a variety of other colors
- googly eyes
- glue
Take your green pipe cleaner and start wrapping it around itself until you make a 4 leaf clover. Wrap any excess around the middle to secure.
Take another pipe cleaner in your choice of colors and, leaving a small bit, about an inch, sticking out for one side of the antenna, wrap it around the middle. And around and around. Once there’s only about an inch or so left on that side, wrap it around the other side of the antenna. If your antenna are still too long, just fold it in half and tuck it under itself.
Glue on some googly eyes and you have some really cute butterflies, just festive enough for St. Patrick’s Day and colorful enough for Spring. My daughter absolutely loved this craft and I hope you will, too!
