5 More Ways to Keep Teens Fresh This Back To School Season
This is a sponsored post from AXE®. All opinions and tips are my own, but I’m sure many parents and teens can relate.
Those first few days of the new school season are an exciting, yet nervous and anxious time for many kids. This may be even more so for teens. The older you get, the more important it seems to be to look and play the part to fit in. They need the right clothes, the right shoes, the right supplies, and they need to smell good, too. That’s why AXE® YOU Body Spray, AXE Signature Gold Dry Spray, and AXE Signature Night Dry Spray are an essential smell-good part of our routine.
Puberty plays a number on body odor, especially boys. It’s a hard subject to talk about, but definitely one that needs to be discussed. It’s just a part of growing up. The last thing my 13-year-old son should worry about is how he smells, yet we already need to stay on top of it as it can quickly become overwhelming. And that’s not the first impression anyone wants to make. As such, the right deodorant and antiperspirant sprays from AXE are just as important a back to school supply as paper and pencils.
Did you know that most guys don’t know how or when to use AXE body and dry sprays? In fact, 64% of young guys think body spray and dry spray are the same thing and 1 in 2 guys think that they should apply body spray to their underarms (which is incorrect!). *Ipsos Body Spray Drivers and Barriers, 2017 or Ipsos, 2017 Actually, I didn’t know either.
It’s simple, really. Use AXE body spray to stay fresh all-day long. To refrain from spraying too much and being “that guyâ€, simply apply AXE deodorant body spray in a “7†motion across your chest and for only as long as it takes to say the word “AXE.â€.
While AXE dry spray is used to stay dry for up to 48 hours. To stay dry and keep teens fresh, simply apply AXE dry spray antiperspirant under your arms for sweat protection, which can be used in place of an antiperspirant stick. 5 More Ways to Keep Teens Fresh This Back To School
Keep Clothes Washed Regularly – That body odor smell can build up in your teen’s clothes. From shirts to socks, and even his bedding, a regular laundry schedule is vital to an everyday fresh scent.
Stink-free Shoes – From personal experience, my teen son has some really stinky feet. Make sure feet, shoes, and socks are always clean, fresh, and smelling good. And get in-between the toes. We also like to use just a mist of spray or cologne in his shoes for an extra layer of protection.
Stock up on Body Wash – The right body wash can make a world of difference. Find a suitable scent that your teen really likes and use in a quick shower before school, as well as after, if needed. We know very well here, there can never be too many showers.
Keep Supplies in the Bag – My son likes to keep an extra AXE YOU Body Spray as well as an AXE dry spray in his school book bag. Just in case he forgets to apply before he leaves for the day. Again, they’re an important back to school supply, just like pens and pencils.
Build the Conversation – Body odor is a natural part of puberty and the teen years, yet it’s sometimes seen as a taboo subject. We try to view the subject humorously, without making fun. The best advice is to open the lines of communication with your teen so they can tell you what they need to feel confident and how you can keep teens fresh this back to school season.
With more confidence in himself, your guy will also start feeling more confident in school. At that point, the world opens up. All without a whiff of stink.
