Buzz’s birthday is on Friday, which as of this writing on Tuesday morning is exactly 3 days away. He’s going to be a whopping 7 years old.
Wait, wasn’t he just a baby yesterday?
Yes, actually. According to my mom math, he was my little baby just yesterday. Now he’s my big monkey. With grander tastes. The older they get, the more expensive their toys.
Yesterday, when he was just a baby, shopping for birthdays was so much easier. When he was happy to just stick the paw of a stuffed bear in his mouth and drool all over it. Once they get older, though, they have firm ideas about what they want. And what they want never seems to be cheap.
Buzz is a phenomenal artist, in my unbiased opinion, so for this birthday I selected a nice drawing set for him, that includes pencils and pastels, among a few other things. Thankfully, I was able to find deals and offers on kids stuff at Toys R Us. Always look around online for discounts, I’ve learned. It’s amazing how much you can get taken off. You find more vouchers and discounts at MyDeals.com. Because my mom math may be a bit fuzzy, but even I know when I’m getting a good deal.
And I know when my little boy is getting older, even when I don’t want to admit it. I look back fondly on yesterday, but I do love watching him grow into the person he’s becoming. Even when it costs more than I may have been expecting, the price is always worth it.
