2 Rules for a Successful Family Road Trip
We’re planning on a lot of family road trips this year. Both short distance and some quite a ways. In fact, we already had our first excursion last weekend which turned out to be a really great time. I’ve picked up a few tips, however, and I’m here to share the main set of rules to keep all merry while gathered in such close quarters. Or, not so close quarters, too. 1. Comfort is Key
My kids share a backseat. All 3 snug as a bug, without a lot of personal space. It’s imperative that we make it as comfortable as possible. I wouldn’t let my kids use one of those seat but I absolutely love those reusable bags! You can never have enough snacks in the car on a road trip!

Is it sad that I want one of those bum seats for myself! I also found having playlists that suit every one’s music style helps too.
Well that does get rid of two of the biggest complaints.
This booster might help solve our three kids in a Honda Civic issue for next year. I was wondering two how I would pick all three up from school when I can hold two booster seats in the backseat.
Those reusable ziptop bags are neat – I always reuse mine when possible, but the material does break down after repeated use. This looks a lot more durable!

We have one of those seats too. The plastic hard seats put indents on my leather seats, so this seat works much better.

I just saw the Bubble Bum at Walmart last week. My oldest isn’t quite old/big enough for it yet, but I almost picked one up for the future. I will probably be getting one.
I have been eyeing some reusable snack bags – I like that these have a velcro-style seal. However, when I went to the BooginHead website, I didn’t see them listed in the products.

Traveling with my kids is tricky! My oldest gets motion sickness. I love the options you featured for traveling, looks like some great picks!
We have a BubbleBum that we use for when we fly someplace. I don’t feel confident enough in it for long road trips, though. My daughter says she doesn’t mind it, but I feel safer with an actual booster or high back booster. I think it’s better for an older kid (7, 8) than a younger one (5, 6).
We’re always packing snacks for road trips in re-usable bags. Those ones have really cute designs, and sound like they’re a breeze to clean up. I like that they use velcro instead of the regular type ‘zip’ bags seems easier for little hands to open and close them.

Great way to keep kids comfortable! My kids and I just did an impromtu road trip to Cape Cod, and we found that snacks were important to keep whining to a minimum
I love the reusable snack bags for road trips. We always, always pack road trip snacks. Not only to keep my teens happy, but to save money. We know without a doubt we’ll buy lots of snacks so I’d rather pack them from home than pay out for gas station snacks. That’s a killer on the budget.

Getting my kids to behave for long periods of time in the car is maddening! P wants to have what charlotte wants and blah blah. Its the age difference!
