Animal Faces Toast

Every once in awhile, when you can find a few extra moments, there’s nothing like surprising the kids with a snack that’s truly fun. And the kids will absolutely love being greeted at the table by a fish, puppy, monkey, and bear in our Animal Faces Toast!

I say a few extra moments, but really, each animal face in our Animal Faces Toast uses the same group of ingredients and starts with a simple slice of toasted bread. So if you make one, you can make them all.

Along with toasted bread, for the Animal Faces Toast you will also need cream cheese, a hazelnut spread, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, raspberries, and black decorating gel.

For the Fish Face Toast, first toast your bread. Then, spread a layer of cream cheese on the toast. Turn the toast on the side. Slice strawberries and lay over ¾ of the toast creating the fish scales. Pick a blueberry to add to the cream cheese for an eye. Finish with a strawberry sliver for a smile.

The Puppy Face Toast starts with another piece of toasted bread. Cut the toast into 3 pieces with the middle being the biggest. Spread cream cheese over the middle piece. Using a hazelnut spread, make a circle on the cream cheese. Add two blueberry eyes, one in the middle of the hazelnut spread and the other next to it. Add a raspberry nose. Using decorating gel, draw a smile. Spread the hazelnut spread over the other two pieces, which will be the ears.

Spoon hazelnut spread over another piece of toasted bread to start our Monkey Face Toast. Slice a banana into round pieces. Cut one of the pieces in half and use it to create a mouth. Cut another piece of banana in half to make the monkey’s ears. And add two blueberry eyes.

For the Bear Face Toast, spread the hazelnut spread over the toast. Slice a banana into round pieces. Add one to the toast. Add two blueberry eyes. Spoon a dot of hazelnut spread on a third blueberry and add on top of the banana slice for a nose.

Not only is this fun to serve the kids, but each of the cute, and yummy, faces in our Animal Faces Toast is also a great snack to bring the kids into the kitchen. And any time you can spend together in the kitchen, especially when hazelnut spread is involved, is always going to be time well spent.

17. Spread Nutella over the other two pieces. These will be the ears.

21. Spoon Nutella over the toast.
22. Slice a banana into round pieces.
23. Cut one of the pieces in half and use it to create a mouth.
24. Cut another piece of banana in half to make the monkey’s ears.

28. Toast a piece of bread.
29. Spread Nutella over the toast.
30. Slice a banana into round pieces. Add one to the toast.
31. Add two blueberry eyes.
32. Spoon a dot of Nutella on a third blueberry and add on top of the banana slice for a nose.
