Christmas is a fantastic time for kids because it means amazing food, lots of presents and best of all no school for a while. Celebrate the start of the holidays by getting your kids off the couch, they’ve watched Frozen before, and into the kitchen to create some awesome holiday themed crafts. You could even give them out as extra Christmas presents for family and friends.
Create A Christmas Stocking
This is a great activity for little ones as it’s pretty easy, simple and fun to do and gives them a stocking for their favourite teddy, or stuffed toy. You’re going to some clean, red socks, a pack of pom poms, sequins, tinsel, stickers and any other decorations you think they might like to stick on there and some fabric glue. Simply take the sock and dot some glue around it then let them stick the decorations on before drying. Once it’s dry fill it with sweets and dollar store items before hanging on the tree.
Magical Winter Movie Posters
Let them star in their very own Christmas movies by using your computer and Adobe Spark’s free poster maker to create cool movie posters. Just pick the size you want, the background colour and theme along with what text you’d like included as well as any photos, you can even upload from social media, before sharing your finished masterpieces online or printing. Why not add to the A- List vibe by buying, or painting some gold frames for your kids to put their finished posters in and have your very own famous faces poster show?

Design Your Own Candy Canes
Another fantastic activity for little ones as they’ll love playing with the fluffy pipe cleaners and folding them into different shapes. All you need is red, green and white pipe cleaners, or lots of different colours to represent different flavours, and some festive ribbon to hang them from. Plait the pipe cleaners together, kids may need help, then cut each plait in half and bend into candy cane shapes before hanging them around the house.
Reindeer Food Sprinkle
This is an incredibly easy but extremely effective project and is a cute extra gift to give to friends and family. You’ll want to find a medium sized sealable jar, a tablespoon of glitter and one of oatmeal or plain oats then simply pour the ingredients into the jar and label it ‘Christmas reindeer food’ and sprinkle it on the lawn come Christmas Eve.
Make A Sparkly Festive Bauble
Pom poms are one of the cutest, fluffiest items and by choosing an extra sparkly or glittery wool you can be sure they’ll really stand out on the tree. Grab some wool and some card, then cut two circles from the card making sure they’re the same size, and cut a hole in the middle of each one. Wrap the wool around the card, passing it through the hole until the card’s completely covered over. Snip the edges of the pom pom and ease the two circles slightly apart. Tie a length of wool around the middle making sure it’s extra tight before removing the card and hanging it on the Christmas tree.
