Spring break for my boys is coming up quick. It starts tomorrow, actually. So we need things to do. I need ways to occupy all that energy or I’m going to go insane.
That’s not an exaggeration. Insane, I tell you.
While I’ve never claimed to be the craftiest mom on the block, art projects are a great way to get kids concentrating and sitting for more than a split second. They’re also a better idea than a day full of video games.
Artterro Eco Art kits are complete craft kits, with natural materials. We chose to review the Wool Felt Bug Kit. Included was everything we would need for up to 7 bugs, with plenty of options for eyes, wings, and decorations. That is where your imagination runs wild.
This kit is recommended for ages 7+. Parts of the bugs need to be stitched together with the included string and needles, so it’s definitely not for little kids. There are also small beads that are easy to get lost, but that’s expected.
I still went ahead and made a bug with my 4 year old, however, while we wait for spring break to do the rest. She told me what she wanted and I tried to put it together. Again, I’m not that crafty, really. But who says it needs to be perfect, right? You can make your bugs however you want!
My one tip is to have some glue on hand, as well. Not only does it keep the string from coming undone, but it also makes it easier to attach some of the little pieces.
Artterro Eco Art kits are available from their website. Most are priced at $19.95.
