When I’m looking for some girl time with my 6 year old daughter, I can always count on Barbie to be a hit.
Fortunately, I knew of just the Barbie movie we could watch. So we settled down together for an afternoon of Barbie in Princess Power! Soon to be released this Spring on March 3, I was lucky enough to be sent a viewing copy so we could take a sneak peek!
In Barbie In Princess Power, Barbie stars as Kara, a modern-day princess with an everyday life. One day, after being kissed by a magical butterfly, Kara soon discovers she has amazing super powers. She can now transform into Super Sparkle, her secret, crime-fighting alter ego superhero who flies around the kingdom ready to save the day! But it’s not long before her jealous cousin catches the butterfly and also transforms, only she turns into Dark Sparkle, her nemesis.
Barbie, sparkles, magical butterflies, vibrant costumes, and girl power – everything I know my own little princess loves!
We couldn’t watch it just by ourselves, however. So Abby gathered around just a few of her nearby Barbie friends for a viewing party. They were excited to see Barbie on the big screen, too!
With any good party, you have to have yummy snacks. Thinking ahead, I picked up some pink-frosted sugar cookies at the store, complete with heart sprinkles. More pink, and perfect for the occasion!
But just because you’re in pink doesn’t mean you’re not a strong superhero. That’s what we found out as we settled in and watched Barbie in Princess Power.
Will Super Sparkle and Dark Sparkle put aside their differences to form one super sparkly team? Will they save the day together?
Underneath all that sparkle is a great tale of the power of friendship and working together. Abby loved all the sparkle and Barbie and wanted to watch it all over again!
We had so much fun together on our day. Barbie in Princess Power, a great superhero adventure, was just the right movie for a girl’s day in, too. We’ll definitely do this again very soon!
