Bottle Cap Caterpillar
Gather up your bottle caps and make this super cute Bottle Cap Caterpillar craft!
If you’re like me, you probably collect a lot of bottle caps. Most of mine are from iced coffees, but I also have plenty glass bottle caps as well as water bottle caps. A random mix of them all are perfect for our Bottle Cap Caterpillar!
We used one larger iced coffee cap for the head, but then used similarly sized smaller caps, painted in various bright colors, for the body. The great thing about this Bottle Cap Caterpillar is that you can make it as long as you want in whatever color scheme you want. Mix it up and have fun rearranging the colors and sizes of the caterpillar’s body!
Bottle Cap Caterpillar
Supplies needed:
- various bottle caps
- acrylic paints in various, bright colors
- pipe cleaner
- small Googly eyes
- glue
- scissors
First, gather your bottle caps and make sure they’re clean. Then, paint each in various colors. You may need a few coats. Let dry.
Decide which cap will be the head and glue on a pair of googly eyes. Cut a pipe cleaner in half, fold into a V shape, twirl the ends down, and glue the bottom of the V onto the back of the bottle cap.
Mix it up, play with the pieces, and see how many ways and color combinations you can come up with for your Bottle Cap Caterpillar!
