Kids this day and age have all kinds of technology literally at their fingertips. From the swipe of a tablet to a press on a smart phone, children have an abundance of games and media at their fingertips.
My kids are amongst those who probably have too much technology. But if they can play on a tablet while learning something, too, that’s a compromise I can stand behind.
We were sent a Britannica Kids touchTAB! to review. And it’s just the compromise I was searching for! Suggested for kids 5 and up, the touchTAB is an educational tablet that inspires kids to learn interesting facts about various subjects by utilizing hands-on interactive play and quizzes to test their growing knowledge.
Coming from Kids Encyclopedia Britannica, a name known to deliver trustworthy and reliable information and curriculum for decades, each cartridge in the series contains over 200 facts and questions along multiple levels for your child’s experience.
The touchTAB comes with the Magnificent Mammals content pack, which told us all about the animals we share a world with, but we were also sent a content pack of Incredible Earth. You insert the cartridge, then by simply pressing an image on the screen we learned about continents and natural disasters as well as the different terrains that make up our landscape.
The only thing is that sometimes the cartridges didn’t slide in as easily as they should have for us. Other than that, if your kids love tablets but you want to make sure they learn a little something, too, this is a bit of fun education you can both agree on.
Where to Buy
The Britannica Kids touchTAB and all additional themed cartridges are currently sold at Target.com and will soon be available at other retailers nationwide. The touchTAB has a suggested retail price of $39.99.
I received the above product to review from the PR firm or company. No other compensation was received. Opinions are my own.
