Button and Paper Reindeer
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer… but why does he have to have a red nose? I mean, I know why. But with our simple Button and Paper Reindeer craft, you can make your reindeer as colorful as you want.
Now, Santa can’t pull a sleigh without his trusty reindeer. And with our Button and Paper Reindeer, they’ll be lighting up the sky in red, blue, and yellow for those who want to mix it up. Or just stick with your usual Rudolph and Blitzen variety red and black. Be sure to also check out our Christmas Ornament Rudolph Reindeer.
The supplies needed for our Button and Paper Reindeer include brown cardstock, sparkly pipe cleaners, buttons, a single hole punch, scissors, and glue.
Button and Paper Reindeer
Supplies needed:
- Brown cardstock
- Sparkly pipe cleaners
- Buttons – black, red, and colors of choice
- Hole punch
- Scissors

First, cut your sheet of cardstock lengthwise into 4 strips.
Fold the end of a strip of cardstock over into a triangle. Cut away excess and continue to make more reindeer.
Punch two holes on the top back, near the fold.
Insert a sparkly pipe cleaner in your color of choice into the holes. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaner into zig-zag antler shapes.
Glue two small black buttons in place for eyes. Glue on a button nose in your choice of color.
To keep your triangle shut, apply a small drop of glue behind the button nose and press into the back triangle. Hold in place for a few seconds to set.
