Cardboard Roll Firework Fountain Craft
We are bursting with excitement to share with you our Cardboard Roll Firework Fountain Craft! It’s so easy, and so fun, with so many colors shooting in sparks from the tops!
I’ve gathered a mess of pipe cleaners over our years crafting. It’s actually pretty neat to look at, with the colors of pipe cleaners bending every way in one gathered bunch. I thought that would make a great firework! More specifically, I immediately thought of fountains. They were always a favorite firework as a kid.

To make our Cardboard Roll Firework Fountain Craft you will need clean toilet paper size cardboard rolls, sparkly pipe cleaners, black paper, metallic markers, a stapler, and scissors.
Make this July 4th Firework Craft
Supplies needed:
- Cardboard rolls
- Sparkly pipe cleaners
- Black paper
- Metallic markers – red, blue, silver, gold
- Stapler
- Scissors
Begin by measuring the cardboard roll to the black paper.
Cut the black paper to fit.
Draw a simple design with the metallic markers on the black paper.
Now wrap the black paper around the cardboard roll. Staple the end to secure.
Gather a bunch of pipe cleaners along the same colors. We also threw some silver and gold pipe cleaners in the mix, too. You will need at least 6 or 7 per firework. Bend the pipe cleaners in half. Use one end of one of the pipe cleaners to twist around the bunch to secure together.
And stick in the top of the cardboard roll. You can always tape or hot glue to fully secure, but they’ll stay pretty well just stuck in there.
