Supplies needed:
- Cardboard roll
- Tissue paper
- Twine
- Single hole punch
- Glue
- Scissors
- Paper plate
- Pencil
- Ruler
Flatten toilet paper roll.
Measure and cut into 5 sections (petals) that are ⅝” wide. Discard excess.
Keep toilet paper roll pieces flat and punch a hole through both layers about ¼” from the fold.
On one of the pieces, punch a hole on the opposite end for hanging when the flower is finished.
Cut a strip of tissue paper. Spread some glue on a paper plate. Open petals partially and dip one cut edge of each petal into your glue. Press the glued edge of each petal onto the cut piece of tissue paper. Space them out at least ½” apart on the tissue paper strip. Let dry.
Cut between each petal so you have 5 separate pieces. With the cardboard side up, trim excess tissue paper off each flower petal.
Lay the five pieces with tissue paper side down, holes in the center, onto a flat surface. Weave a piece of bakers twine through each hole, pull tight, but not too tight. Tie into a knot and trim excess.
Tie a long piece of bakers twine through the petal with the hole punched in it for hanging.
Now it’s time to hang the suncatchers in a window and enjoy! Be sure to find more of our spring crafts at Our Kid Things!
