Cardboard Roll Jack-O-Lantern Craft Directions

Begin by painting the clothespins for the jack-o-lanterns brown.

Paint clothespins brown.

Let the paint dry completely.

Print wraps on orange paper.

While the clothespins are drying, print the jack-o-lantern wraps on orange paper. There are 3 pages of wraps, 2 faces on each page. You can use cardstock or construction paper, but the construction paper will mold around the roll and glue slightly easier. The cardstock, however, is sturdier and we tend to prefer the colors of cardstock over construction paper. Really, whatever paper you’d like to use, it’s up to you.

Cut wraps.

Cut out the wraps along the lines.

Glue start of wrap.

Now, grab a cardboard roll. Glue the start of a wrap without the face first. Then, roll the wrap around the roll, wrapping as straight and evenly as possible.

Wrap around the roll then glue end of wrap.
Glued wrap.

Glue the end of the wrap.

Cut pipe cleaner in half.

Then, grab a clothespin and a pipe cleaner. Cut the pipe cleaner in half.

Twist pipe cleaner around finger.

Twist the pipe cleaner around your finger.

Jack-O-lantern stem.

Finally, clasp the clothespin onto the top of the cardboard roll with a twisty vine pipe cleaner. Now all that’s left is to wrap more rolls for more super fun Halloween jack-o-lanterns!
