Cardboard Roll Pirate Craft
Pirates are always a lot of fun. This Cardboard Roll Pirate Craft is great for those hours of imaginative play! It comes with a Free Printable Pirate Template, too, so you can simply print them out and start making your adorable pirate craft.
I mean, who doesn’t love to make believe they’re sailing the open seas with an eye patch and some fun pirate speak? Speaking of, this is a great craft for Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19.

To make our Cardboard Roll Pirate Craft you will first need to print our Pirate Template. The remainder of the supplies include a tissue paper roll size cardboard roll, construction paper in white, black, and the colors of choice, a black pen, glue, and scissors.
How to Make this Pirate Craft
Supplies needed:
- Pirate TemplateCardboard roll
- Construction paper – white, black, blue, red, etc
- Glue stick
- Black pen
- Scissors
Begin by printing the template.
The skull, crossbones, and white strip you can leave white as is. The thin strips and hat shape trace and cut out of black paper. The bandanna and other rectangle strip trace and cut out of the color of your choice.
Glue the white skull and bones on the pirate’s hat. And glue the black stripes horizontally on the white rectangular piece. Keep equal distance between the strips.
Now, take the colored rectangular piece and glue it around the bottom side of the tissue paper roll.
Then, glue the black and white piece around the tissue paper roll right above the blue piece.
Take the pirate’s eye patch and glue it on the top side of the tissue paper roll.
Glue the head bandanna right above the eye patch around the tissue paper roll.
And glue the pirate’s hat on the top of the tissue paper roll and slightly overlap it with the head bandanna.
Finish off our adorable pirate by using the black pen to draw a smile and eye on the pirate’s face.
