This summer sun art project craft is a great way to beat the summer heat, and a great craft for kids of all ages. It’s a fun excuse to play with paint. Just gather some cardboard rolls as well as acrylic paints and get crafting!

Stamped Cardboard Roll Sun Craft
To make our sun craft you will need toilet paper size cardboard rolls, acrylic paint in yellow and orange along with a paintbrush, white cardstock, small googly eyes, a black marker, and scissors.

Summer Sun Craft Supplies Needed
- Cardboard rolls
- Acrylic paint – yellow, orange
- White cardstock
- Paint brush
- Googly eyes, small
- Black marker
- Scissors
Cardboard Roll Sun Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin with toilet paper size cardboard rolls. You will need one for each color.

Make even cuts about halfway up the roll all around the bottom of the roll.

Gently push the cuts outward until they lay almost flat on a surface. Repeat this step on another cardboard roll.

Pour a generous amount of yellow paint on a paper plate in a circle. You can use a paintbrush to evenly distribute the paint.

Now, dip the toilet paper roll into the paint. To make sure all of the strips are covered, use the end of a paintbrush to gently press down into the paint. Continue this step until the strips are evenly covered.

Press the painted toilet paper roll down onto the white cardstock. Again, to make sure the roll prints well onto the page, use the end of the paintbrush to press each strip down onto the paper.

Then, lift the toilet paper roll off of the page and set aside.

Repeat the steps above for the orange paint color and the other toilet paper roll.

Press the toilet paper roll down onto the paper on top of the yellow stamped sun. Lift up gently.

Finally, draw a mouth in the middle of the sun and glue two googly eyes for the face.
