Cardboard Roll Walrus Craft
Sometimes you just need to make a really cute craft. I have to say, this Cardboard Roll Walrus Craft is really cute. Great for winter, and with hearts for the nose it would be a fun craft for Valentine’s Day, too.
This Cardboard Roll Walrus Craft is really quite simple to make. Looking for more cardboard roll animal crafts? Be sure to check out our Cardboard Roll Fox Craft, Cardboard Roll Yarn Wrapped Bears, and our Cardboard Roll Raccoons.
For our Cardboard Roll Walrus Craft you will need clean toilet paper cardboard rolls, brown and red cardstock, a stapler, medium googly eyes, thin twine, craft stick, glue stick, and scissors. A heart paper punch makes the nose easier, but you can also just cut it out, too.
Cardboard Roll Walrus Craft
Supplies needed:
- Cardboard roll
- Cardstock – light brown, darker brown, and red
- Heart paper punch
- Googly eyes, medium
- Craft stick
- Thin twine
- Stapler
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Start by flattening the cardboard roll.
Cut a fin shape in one end.
Staple closed.
Cut 3 circles and a rectangle out of the darker brown cardstock. Cut 2 of the circles in half.
Staple one end of the rectangle inside the open end of the cardboard roll.
Now staple the rest of the cardboard roll closed. You can carefully puff the cardboard roll out again if wanted.
Make the walrus face by cutting a heart shape to fit the intact circle from the lighter cardstock. We actually used a paper lunch bag. Also punch a heart from the red cardstock with the heart paper punch. Glue the lighter brown heart upside down and the heart nose on the tip.
Adhere googly eyes.
Glue to the rectangle strip.
Finish the face by cutting 8 small strands of twine. Glue 4 strands on each side of the heart nose.
Also, cut a craft stick in half and glue on the back of the face.
Glue the 4 half circles to the bottom of the cardboard roll.
