How darling is this Cardboard Roll Yarn Wrapped Monkey Craft? So cute, and so easy to make with our included Free Monkey Template Printable, too.
The idea behind this craft, and the rest of our yarn wrapped crafts, is quite simple. Just wrap the cardboard roll body in fun multi-color yarn. It’s why it’s one of our favorite ways to craft these days. No mess, so fun, and super cute!

Make our Yarn Wrapped Monkey Craft
Supplies needed:
- Monkey Template
- Cardboard rolls
- Cardstock – brown, cream
- Multi-color yarn
- Googly eyes, medium
- Brown marker
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Begin by printing the monkey template. Cut out the pieces.
Trace and cut out the circle, tail, and small circles from brown cardstock. Alternatively, you can simply use a ⅝” hole punch to make the small circles, too. Cut the inner face shape out of cream cardstock.
Glue the inner face to the center of the circle.
And glue the small circle ears to the side of the circle.
Adhere googly eyes.
Make a simple mouth with the brown marker, as well. Set these pieces aside for now.
Cut 2 slits on both sides of the cardboard roll, top and bottom, about 1 inch deep. You can test with the tail piece to make sure it’s deep enough.
Insert one end of the yarn into the slits. And begin wrapping.
Wrap until the roll is covered. Then insert the final end into another slit.
Insert the tail into the slits on the bottom of the roll.
And insert the head on top.
We have monkeys! Such adorable, cozy monkeys!
