Cardboard Yarn Wrapped Mummy Craft
The thing I adore about yarn wrapping/lacing/weaving whatever you want to call it kind of crafts, is that they’re usually just so easy. Many times you don’t even need to paint. That’s exactly what makes this Cardboard Yarn Wrapped Mummy Craft so great! Plus, if a mummy could be cute, I have to say these guys came out awfully cute.
Our Mummy Paper Plate Lacing Craft is our most popular post around here during the Halloween season. And this year, we’ve already made these Multicolor Yarn Wrapped Jack-O-Lanterns and our darling Paper Plate Yarn Lacing Apple Trees. We’ve also made these fun Cardboard Roll Yarn Wrapped Bears. You can almost anything in yarn and it’s gonna come out great!
For our Cardboard Yarn Wrapped Mummy Craft you will need strong pieces of corrugated cardboard, white yarn, a black sharpie, medium googly eyes, glue, and scissors.
Cardboard Yarn Wrapped Mummy Craft
Supplies needed:
- Cardboard
- White yarn
- Black sharpie
- Medium googly eyes
- Glue
- Scissors
Begin by cutting general shapes out of the cardboard.
We made circle mummies and square mummies.
Use the black marker to draw a mouth shape on the cardboard. Also glue on the googly eyes.
Then, make small slits all around the cardboard.
Now cut a long strand of white yarn. Insert one end into a slit, which should hold it in place.
Continue wrapping around the cardboard, tucking the yarn into the slits to hold in place. Try to leave some of the eyes visible, as well as a bit of mouth just for effect. Once finished wrapping your mummy, tuck the end of the yarn into a slit and cut. You can use tape to further secure if desired.
See?!? They’re cute! Nice, friendly mummies. We hope you love this mummy craft as much as we do! And be sure to check out more of our fun Halloween kid crafts at Our Kid Things!
