Mom’s deserve a break, but the truth of the matter is, our job is never done. We can push it to the side to sit down for 5 minutes to breathe, but there’s still laundry in the dryer, dishes in the sink, and a baby that needs a bath. A true break? Never happens. We can make mealtimes easier on ourselves, though. And I’ve found a few easy lunch ideas for the whole family with the help of Coca-Cola products and Member’s Mark from Sam’s Club.
With a large family, it can be difficult to find meal options everyone can agree on. Member’s Marks meals are fresh meals found in the refrigerated section in Sam’s Club. Not only that, but Sam’s Club also has a number of fresh sandwich trays along with a fruit and cheese tray to choose from.
These are especially an easy and helpful option when you choose Club Pickup. Simply place your order online, pick up on your desired day, and lunch for the family is done. No matter how many you have to feed, or how picky they may be.
Now, weekends have never been easier.
We especially enjoy the Ciabatta Deli Sandwich Tray. Each tray is freshly made in Club and contains six turkey sandwiches on wheat mini ciabattas, along with eight ham on white mini ciabattas. There’s also a delicious honey mustard to dip the sandwiches, as well as cheese cubes and cherry tomatoes on the side.
The Fruit and Cheese Tray includes an abundance of fresh strawberries, green grapes, and purple grapes paired with delicious Colby-Jack and cheddar cubes. It was everything needed to fill up for the weekend.
For the perfect compliment to our Sam’s Club Member’s Mark deli trays, I picked up Simply Orange®, Simply Lemonade®, and Gold Peak® Sweet Tea while in club. These are our everyday family favorites with the convenience and value at Sam’s Club. More great refreshing beverage options are smartwater®, vitaminwater®, and Sprite® from Sam’s Club.
With lunch taken care of, we actually have a couple moments to spruce up our lunch table. For instance, the fruit tray has everything you need for the perfect side or snack throughout the day. However, slide a few pieces on a kebab for a nice presentation and a bit of fun. Everyone from kids to adults can’t resist eating their food from a stick. You could also just as easily add a few strawberries or grapes right to your glass of Simply Lemonade® or Sprite®.
And since you need to have something to set your glass on, we came up with a set of DIY Old CD Felt Flower Coasters that are perfect for spring!
Not only are they pretty to look at, a beautiful way to reflect the spring sun, using one of my favorite recycled craft materials, and functional at keeping the table dry, but a craft like this is also a great way to keep the kids busy for a bit with only a few supplies needed. Mom might actually get a break!
DIY Old CD Felt Flower Coasters
- felt, assorted colors
- old CDs
First, take a CD and trace the outline on a piece of felt with your pen for the general size. Cut inside the line.
Go around the circle of felt, cutting a jagged waves/flower petal pattern from the circle. Keep cutting in the circle to make the flower smaller, or snip off just a bit to keep it bigger like a sunflower.
Cut a smaller circle of another color for the inside circle of the flower. Glue pieces in place.
Cut a thin rectangle from a piece of green felt for the stem. You may need to cut a tip on the end so that it fits in the flower petal. Glue in place.
And that’s how mom wins the weekend. Be sure to find more fun spring craft and recipe ideas at Our Kid Things, too!
While we used the sandwich and fruit trays for a feast all by ourselves, my fiancee remarked how they would also be great for game day celebrations, since it is that time of year. Simply ordering trays for birthdays or holidays would take away a lot of stress, too.
