I love how quick it is to make a whole rainbow of these fun bats. Then simply insert the wings into the clamp of the clothespin for a great way to hold onto those Halloween invitations, spooky cards, or separate homework. You can fold the wings up, too, to make it look like they’re in flight!

To make our Clothespin Bats Craft you will need our Bat Wings Template, regular wooden clothespins, acrylic paints in a variety of colors, black cardstock, a black sharpie, and scissors.
Make a Halloween Bat with a Clothespin
Supplies needed:
- Bat Wings Template
- Clothespins
- Acrylic paint – red, green, purple, blue, orange, pink, etc.
- Black cardstock
- Black sharpie, fine point
- Scissors
Begin by painting the clothespins a variety of colors.
These were so fun and quick, we painted ours every color we have on hand. Try to get in to every crevice. Let dry.
While the clothespins are drying, print the Bat Wings Template. Cut out. Fold in half and fold a sheet of black cardstock in half, too. Slide the folded template over the fold, and trace the template with a pencil.
Cut out the wings and unfold.
Using a fine point black sharpie, make 2 simple dots on the dry clothespin for the eyes and 2 V’s for the fangs.
Now insert the wings at the fold into the clamp of the clothespin, as far as it will go. You can glue to secure if you need.
Fold the wings up to make it look as if they’re in flight.
These bats are truly spook-tacular!
