It’s safe to say that you probably don’t want to be around me before I’ve had a cup of coffee in the morning. I get up early to make myself a cup just so I have a bit of my cognitive functions firing when I have to get my kids up and ready for school. It’s my holiday cheer, you could say.
While I do love coffee, I don’t love drinking it black. I have to stir in some creamer. As such, whenever I’m at Walmart, I make sure to stock up on International Delight. The quart sizes are now available in delicious holiday flavors including Peppermint Mocha, Pumpkin Pie Spice, and Frosted Sugar Cookie.
I’m excited to try all 3 varieties, but I couldn’t resist a quart size of the International Delight Frosted Sugar Cookie. Along with that, and still at Walmart, I made sure to pick up a box of single creamers in Caramel flavor for quick coffee creaming on-the-go! These single creamers would also make fun additions to holiday gifts and stocking stuffers that I’m sure most parents would appreciate. We need all the energy we can get to keep up with our kids.
Just looking at the name and design on the bottle of International Delight makes me yearn for Christmas. We always leave a batch of sugar cookies out for Santa, carefully prepared and selected for when he makes his jolly visit. It’s a wonderful start to the season!
Do you know what else makes for a wonderful start? Coffee. But aside from that? Donuts! Coffee Creamer Glazed Donuts, that is.
Donut or doughnut? Call them whatever you want, these Coffee Creamer Glazed Donuts are made with a boxed cake mix, making them so easy. And so good! Simply prepare your donut base with one box cake mix, one egg, ¼ cup of vegetable oil, and 1 cup of water. Bake in a donut pan at 375 for about 20 minutes. Let those cool.
While the donuts are cooling a bit, it’s time to make your glaze! You can use any of the flavors of International Delights. I had Frosted Sugar Cookie and Caramel on hand, though, and oh my word!
Whisk about 4 tablespoons of your creamer into 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar and 1 tbsp of melted butter for a melt in your mouth donut experience.
But wait! Because you need sprinkles! And chopped nuts! Actually, you don’t need them. These donuts are just divine on their own. But sprinkles and a few chopped nuts never hurt anybody.
Now, take a moment just for yourself with a cup of coffee and a fresh baked donut.
You’ll be thinking it’s Christmas even when it’s months away with these donuts that are seriously like little circles of heaven in your mouth.
