Color Match Santa Hat
Santa’s hat isn’t just to keep his jolly head nice and warm on a cold day. With our Color Match Santa Hat craft and game activity, it can also serve as a timely teachable moment for our little tots to learn and recognize their colors.
More than the original red and white, our Santa Hat is brimmed with color. However, our Color Match Santa Hat is a craft first. And so to get started, you will first need to put all the pieces together. This is done simply with red and white foam, markers, poms, and Velcro tabs.
We all know how to make a Santa hat, I’m sure. But along with learning colors, our Color Match Santa Hat is also great for teaching shapes as you’ll need a large triangle, a rectangle brim, and the pom circles.
Then, mix up the poms and match the colors on Santa’s hat!
Color Match Santa Hat
Supplies needed:
- 1 sheet red foam
- 1 sheet white foam
- 1 pkg. small round velcro tabs, self-stick
- permanent markers, assorted colors
- 8-10 small poms, colors to match the markers
- 1 large white pom
- scissors
- glue
Cut out a large Santa hat from the red foam. Cut out a white rectangle shape for the bottom of the hat, and glue it on. Glue the large white pom to the point of the hat.
Color 8-10 Velcro tabs using different color markers and stick them onto the white part of the hat.
Take the same color of poms that will match the colored Velcro tabs you stuck down, and stick one plain Velcro tab onto each one. Match the poms to the same color Velcro tab on Santa’s hat.
