It’s a difficult task getting my kids to eat fruits and vegetables. They loved their smashed peas as babies, but it’s a battle to get them to try anything green or healthy now that they’re older. My eldest has come around slightly, but my 3 and 6 year old have been steadfast in their refusal.

I was recently sent a copy of Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables. It’s an award-winning DVD, approved by the USDA, targeted toward those 5 years of age and under, though my 6 year old liked it, too. The idea really is quite simple. It’s 115 minutes broken into 12 different chapters of young kids happily eating their fruits and vegetables: bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, tomatoes, broccoli, oranges, bananas, raspberries, strawberries, apples and blueberries. They make them look so good, your child will want to join in and try some of their own.
First of all, I have to say the concept is just really cute. It’s worth it just for that reason alone. And my 3 year old daughter loves watching, then imitating for better or worse, other children. But the best part is that it really works!
Before the movie started, I made sure to have a plate of some of these fruits and veggies available while we watched. I didn’t get her to take a bite of a bell pepper yet, but she was more than happy to snack along on a slice of apple and a banana with the kids on screen. My 6 year old son even joined in. It was definitely a great, fun first step. We’ll keep watching and maybe before long we’ll get to that pepper.

Great way to get kids to eat healthy. Who says brainwashing can’t be positive ;D

My boys like most fruit and will eat carrots. My 4 year old also loves broccoli and green beans. My 2 year old steers clear of all veggies except carrots.
My kids have no problem with fruit, it’s veggies that’s the problem. Broccoli & green beans they love, everything else is a work in progress.
My youngest refuses to eat just about any fruit or veggie. She WILL, on occasion, eat bananas.
My 4 and 5 year old boys are really into baby carrots right now, of course they like them with Ranch dressing so I don’t know if that defeats the purpose!!!
