Cork Cats Craft
We recently introduced a new kitten into our family. He was stuck under our neighbor’s porch and I heard him meowing for help, so we really didn’t have much choice. He’s a cute little orange and white guy who really likes to play. However, our other cat still isn’t so sure about him yet. But with our newest little guy chasing underfoot, we took our cats as inspiration for this Cork Cats Craft!
This isn’t our first cat craft. We made this Tissue Paper on Paper Plate Cat Craft after our older cat and we also put together these fun Cat’s Meow Pop Up Paper Cards for any occasion, but especially fun on Valentine’s Day.
While you could make your Cork Cats Craft any number of different ways inspired after any beloved cats, you could also make a group of black cats for a great black cat Halloween craft, too. And we also made a purple cat, like the one in Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?.
For our Cork Cats Craft you will need wine corks, acrylic paint in your assorted colors with scraps of matching construction paper, small googly eyes, a pink or red marker, and pipe cleaners. Plus your usual scissors, school glue, and hot glue.

Begin by painting 2 wine corks in the colors of your cat.
They can be all black, all white, orange, painted in two different colors, after whatever cat you’re inspired by. Let dry completely.
Once dry, apply hot glue to the end of one wine cork and adhere the other wine cork horizontally.
Wrap a pipe cleaner in a corresponding color around the bottom of the vertical cork. You can use regular pipe cleaners, shiny pipe cleaners, mix it up, whatever you have on hand. Twist to secure and curl in an S shape.
Cut two small triangles out of corresponding construction paper. Glue to the back of the top wine cork. Also glue on small googly eyes. Draw on a pink nose and mouth.
