And with New Year’s Eve quickly approaching, if you’re staying up with your kids, they’ll probably need some encouragement to make it until midnight. Let them see just how close they’re getting with this Countdown Clocks craft!

They’re very easy to make, too. With some old CD’s, a few pieces of paper, stickers and a paper fastener, kids can make their very own personalized clock to countdown whatever they’re excited for! Because whether you’re counting down for New Year’s, a birthday celebration, or the time for a sleepover, kids will love having their own Countdown Clocks.

Countdown Clock Craft

Supplies needed:

  • old CD’s
  • cardstock or thicker paper in various colors
  • number stickers
  • star stickers or other decorative stickers
  • paper fasteners
  • glue
  • scissors
  • pencil and glass

First, set your drinking glass on a piece of colored paper and trace around forming a circle. Cut out and glue in the center of a CD. Punch a small hole in the middle of the paper with the tip of your pencil.

Next, take another piece of colored paper and cut out an arrow shape. If it’s too long, just snip the end to size. Punch another small hole using your pencil again in the middle, about â…“ of the way from the bottom. Attach your arrow to the circle of paper on the CD with a paper fastener.

Apply your number stickers and decorative stickers to complete your clock. Then get ready! It’s the final countdown!
