The kids are back in school, and I’m actually really glad. Summer was crazy. It was chaotic and I always felt like there was so much to do yet I never got anything done. ‘Tis life with kids, and that’s why I love afternoons spent crafting. And I rather love our Craft Stick Giraffe Craft, too!
Our Craft Stick Giraffe Craft is a lot like our Stegosaurus Dinosaur Craft, which is a favorite around here. The supplies used along with the general idea are similar. But we’ve made plenty of other craft stick crafts over the years, as well.
For our Craft Stick GIraffe Craft, you will need large yellow craft sticks. Ours came with a sticky adhesive tip at the top for one less thing to glue. You will also need wood clothespins, orange and yellow cardstock, a brown marker, black pen, scissors, and glue.

- large yellow craft sticks
- wood clothespins
- cardstock – orange and yellow
- brown marker
- black pen
- school glue
Start by cutting shapes for your giraffe out of cardstock.
With orange, you will need a large oval for the body, a smaller oval for the face, an even smaller circle for the tip of the tail, and two really small circles for the tops of their “horns”.
Color brown circles with the brown marker on the body, yellow craft stick, and two clothespins.
You will also need a tail shape and two small, thin rectangles for the rest of the “horns” from the yellow cardstock. Adhere and glue all in place.
Draw an eye and a smile with the black pen. Finish by attaching the wood clothespins for legs.
