Craft Stick Handprint Butterfly Craft
We’ve been having a lot of fun making handprint crafts lately, and I have to say this Craft Handprint Butterfly Craft is top of the charts, especially when it comes to color. Make a bunch, and they’re sure to cheer up a room.
We used different sized circles to decorate our butterflies, but you could also use buttons, stickers, markers, you name it. Whatever you choose, they’re going to be colorful and beautiful.
Colorful Handprint Butterfly Craft
To make this handprint butterfly craft you will need jumbo craft sticks, acrylic paint in various colors, cardstock in various colors, circle paper punches in various sizes, small googly eyes, scissors, and glue.
Handprint Butterfly Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by gathering your jumbo craft sticks and the paint colors you want to use for the body of the butterfly.
Paint the craft stick in your choice of colors. We chose purple, pink, and a light blue for our sticks. Let the paint dry completely.
While the paint on the craft stick is drying, decide which colors you want to use for the wings. You will need 2 separate colors. Trace your little one’s handprint on the cardstock.
Cut out the handprints. You will need 2 handprints from each color, for 4 total.
Glue one of each color of the handprints together, side by side.
Then, when the paint on the craft stick is fully dry, glue the handprints to the back of the craft stick.
Next, glue googly eyes in place.
Finally, cut 2 thin, small strips from one of the colors of cardstock. Curl one end of the strips with your fingers or a pencil.
Then, glue the strip to the back of the top of the craft stick.
Now, use your circle paper punches to make circles in various sizes of colored cardstock.
Glue the circles in a pattern of your choice on the handprints.
I just love all the colors in these butterflies! They instantly make me happy, and we hope you love making them as much as we did.
