For our hedgehogs, we kept the craft stick body in its natural wooden state, adding a brown face and paws. We have a Free Printable Hedgehog Template for those pieces, too, by the way! Then, we added some fun and color with their spiky hair, or quills. Because yes, I googled what the hair on hedgehogs is called. It’s called quills.

Craft Stick Hedgehog Craft Step by Step Directions

Trace quills on cardstock color of choice.
Cut out quills.

Trace the spiky quill shape on the color cardstock of choice and cut out.

Glue 5 craft sticks to quills.

Now, gather 5 regular wooden craft sticks. Glue the craft sticks starting in the center of the quills.

Trace and cut out remaining template shapes on tan cardstock.

Next, trace and cut out the remaining template pieces on tan cardstock. We used circle paper punches to make our shapes before I made the template, hence why the punches are in the supply photo. But for you, you have the template.

Use marker to draw nose and lines for toes.

Add a nose to the tip of the face shape. Also add toe lines to the circle shapes.

Glue face in place at top of craft sticks.

Then, glue the face shape in place at the top of the craft sticks.

Glue paws in place.

Glue the feet in place, as well. Two feet towards the face and two at the bottom of the craft sticks.

Add eyes.

Finally, add googly eyes to complete your super cute, cuddly hedgehog. Well, would be cuddly if not for the quills, anyway.
