Craft Stick Sunflower Craft
I took a little mini vacation to Florida over the weekend. It was beautiful and relaxing. While there, we visited a friend’s house who had a large painting of a field of sunflowers in her kitchen. Sunflowers are my absolute favorite. As such, I said to the kids when I returned, after our hugs and kisses and yays! I’m home!, that we had to do a sunflower craft. And that’s how this Craft Stick Sunflower Craft came about!
This Craft Stick Sunflower Craft is made up of a burst of craft stick petals, like a sun ray, glued to a bright piece of paper and painted yellow. Then, all you need is the center of the sunflower, which always looks black to me, though you could always do brown or even a dark orange and some pictures it could even be blue. Cut that paper in a circle with some wavy shears. The green stem and a leaf complete your beautiful sunflower!

Supplies needed:
- craft sticks
- yellow paint
- orange, green, and black cardstock or heavy paper
- wavy shears
- regular scissors
- glue
First, set down a circle of glue on your orange sheet of paper, in the middle about â…“ of the way down from the top. Lay out and adhere your ray of craft stick petals. Paint yellow. Don’t worry if it goes off the sticks, it’s part of the fun and great practice for little kids.
Take your sheet of black and cut a circle with your wavy shears large enough to cover the circle of glue. Glue that into place.
With your regular scissors, cut out a green stem and a leaf. If you can, tuck the stem behind a craft stick a little bit. Glue into place. Let dry and you have a beautiful sunflower!
Now that we have our beautiful Craft Stick Sunflower, it’s time to bring on the Florida-like sunny weather! I miss those warm temps.
