Craft Stick Yarn Weave Apple Craft
It’s time to wrap up the fall season with our really cute Craft Stick Yarn Weave Apple Craft!
This Yarn Weave Apple Craft is a great craft for little fingers and a fun way to start kids on a knitting journey. All you need to do is weave some yarn around a group of craft sticks, in and out, until you’ve wrapped enough to make an apple shape.
We really like apple crafts around here during the fall. One of our favorites is our Apple Paper Plate Lacing Craft. We’ve also shared this super easy Craft Stick Apples Craft. Now, we’re using craft sticks in a different way with this Craft Stick Yarn Weave Apple Craft.
For our Craft Stick Yarn Weave Apple Craft you will need only a few supplies. First, 4 craft sticks for each apple are needed. Then, red yarn. You could also use white yarn with small snips of black felt for seeds to make the inside of an apple or use green yarn to make a green apple. And finally, green paper for the apple leaf finishes the apples along with clear tape, scissors, and school glue.

Supplies needed:
- craft sticks
- yarn – red, white, and possibly green
- black felt
- green paper
- scissors
- clear tape
- school glue
First, stack 4 craft sticks in a sun-like shape, trying to make sure they’re equally spaced. You could glue them together to make it easier for little hands.
Then, begin wrapping the center of the sticks together with yarn. This will hold them together.
Continue wrapping until you’ve made your desired apple shape. If you run out of yarn and need to add more, simply tape the end of the yarn to the back of the apple and continue wrapping with another strand. Same for different colors.
If doing the inside of an apple, snip a few black pieces of felt and lightly glue to the center of the white. Finish by snipping a leaf shape out of the green paper and tuck between the top of the craft stick and yarn. Lightly glue in place.

Roughly how much of each color of yarn is needed per apple? TIA
I’m not quite sure how to measure it. We started with a strand as long as we could handle without it getting all twisted and bunched. You can always tie on another piece of yarn if needed, or trim, too.
