Crayon Resist Watercolor Shamrocks
These Crayon Resist Watercolor Shamrocks are so easy and so pretty! We’ve also included a Free Printable Shamrock Template to make creating your piece of St. Patrick’s Day art even easier.
We’re really into crayon resist art these days. We’ve recently done Crayon Resist Watercolor Spider Webs and Crayon Resist Watercolor Valentine Cards. It’s such a beautiful, yet simple, creative technique!
To make our Crayon Resist Watercolor Shamrocks you will first need our Shamrock Template. You will also need watercolor paints, a white crayon, and scissors. Also needed is white paper. We used regular white cardstock, but you can, of course, use watercolor paper.
Crayon Resist Watercolor Shamrocks
Supplies needed:
- Shamrock Template
- Watercolor paints
- White cardstock or watercolor paper
- White crayon
- Scissors
Begin by printing the shamrock template.
We used green paper for the shamrock, just so it makes it easier to trace when using all the other white of the crayon and paper. Cut out.
Now position the shamrock in the center of a sheet of cardstock and trace around the shamrock with a white crayon. We went around the shamrock a few times to make sure we have all lines evenly covered.
Then begin painting with watercolors. Rainbows are really pretty on the page against the shamrocks, and we also liked to do different shades of greens with hues of blue and purple, too. All lovely for St. Patrick’s Day.
But the great thing is that this is such a fun, creative art project for St. Patrick’s Day!
