Cupcake Liner Turkey Craft

Let’s make a Thanksgiving turkey craft with cupcake liners! This Cupcake Liner Turkey Craft is super easy and so cute, it’s a perfect Thanksgiving turkey craft for kids. And, you can make your turkey as colorful as the cupcake liners you have on hand.

Have you noticed that we’ve had a thing for cupcake liner crafts lately? We’re having a lot of fun making all the things with cupcake liners! Of course a cupcake liner turkey had to be next.

For the body of our turkeys, we used jumbo craft sticks. You could use your cupcake liner turkey as not just a great kids craft idea and Thanksgiving decoration, but a puppet, too, for some fun Thanksgiving pretend play.

Thanksgiving Turkey Cupcake Liner Craft

To make this turkey craft you’ll need cupcake liners in assorted colors, jumbo craft sticks, brown acrylic paint, small googly eyes, cardstock in yellow and red, scissors, and a glue stick.

Turkey Cupcake Liner Craft Supplies Needed

Turkey Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin by painting a jumbo craft stick brown.

Paint jumbo craft sticks brown.

We used two different shades of brown, because we were going to make multiple turkeys and wanted the variety. Let the paint dry completely.

Fold cupcake liners in half.

While the paint is drying, choose three different colors of cupcake liners. Fold the cupcake liners in half and glue to close.

Layer cupcake liners.

Layer the cupcake liners one on top of the other, with the top showing from the bottom two. Glue the cupcake liners together.

Cut snips in cupcake liners to form feathers.

Now, cut some snips in the cupcake liners to form  a feathered look.

Glue cupcake liners behind the top of a craft stick.

When the paint on the craft stick is completely dry, glue the cupcake liners behind the top of the craft stick.

Add small googly eyes.

Add googly eyes. Self-adhesive googly eyes are so much easier when the eyes are smaller.

Cut yellow triangle and red wattle. Glue in place.

Cut a small triangle from yellow cardstock for the beak. You will also want to cut a raindrop kind of shape for the wattle. Glue those in place below the eyes to complete this super cute turkey craft.

Materials
