Supplies needed:
- Star and Tree Templates
- Colored craft papers
- White cardstock paper
- Pencil or pen β for tracing the template
- Scissors
- Craft glue or glue stick
Select a variety of colors of paper and trace the round shape from the given template on the paper.
Cut out a bunch of round shapes from different colored craft papers.
Cut out 2 rectangles from cardstock papers. Better to choose 1 white colored cardstock, which will be the front side of the art.
Take the cardstock selected for the front side of the art and trace the star shape from the template on the cardstock paper.
Carefully insert scissors to the center of the star or use x acto knife to cut out the traced star shape from the cardstock.
Place the star cut out cardstock on the top of the other rectangle paper, making sure that all 4 sides of both papers are matched. Trace the inverted star shape of the white cardstock on the paper under it.
Take the colorful round cut outs and start to glue them on the star traced on the base paper. Stick them on the star shape by creating a scallop pattern.
Continue to add the round cut outs in rows and try to fill the star shape on all sides. Keep adding rows of scallop patterns until the whole star shape is filled.
Once the star is filled with scallop pattern take the front cardstock with the inverted star cut out and apply glue on the back side of it.
Place the glued side of the cardstock on the scallop patterned paper, matching all 4 sides of the base and the front cardstock paper. Allow the glue to dry and done! Grab more craft papers and cardstock to try out the other pattern from the template.
