Dinosaur Valentine Cards
Having kids at Valentine’s Day makes it a completely different kind of holiday. While I appreciate the lovey dovey-ness that’s intended by the holiday, I love it more when kids are involved. Because they just make it fun. And you can’t get much more fun than these Dinosaur Valentine Cards and Craft with Free Dinosaur Template Printable!
Yes, it’s a craft and card combo! For the Dinosaur Valentine Cards, first make your T-Rex dinosaurs with the pieces from the dinosaur template. The template includes everything needed for the T-Rex; head, feet, arms, and a full circle for the body that is cut then half, stapled, and formed into a pocket for the card to store in. Then, print the You Make My Heart Roar cards, sign your name, and place in the pocket.

Print the Free Dinosaur Template Printable as well as You Make My Heart Roar Cards
For the Dinosaur Valentine Cards, print the dinosaur template as well as You Make My Heart Roar cards on white cardstock. Then, you’ll need cardstock the color of your dinosaurs. You can make them all green, or go with different colors which is always fun. You’ll also need red cardstock, too, for the hearts. The rest of the supplies include a heart paper punch, stapler, scissors, glue, fine-point black marker, and small googly eyes.
Dinosaur Valentine Cards
Supplies needed:
- Dinosaur Template and You Make My Heart Roar Cards
- Cardstock – white, red, green and dinosaur colors
- Heart paper punch
- stapler
- Small googly eyes
- Fine-tip black marker
- Scissors
- Glue
Print dinosaur template and cards on white cardstock.
Cut out all the pieces from the template. Either trace onto the colored cardstock or use as a guide to make your dinosaur pieces.
Fold the large circle in half. Cut down the center.
Line up the two half circles and staple around the curve, leaving the straight edge open.
Adhere all the other pieces in place. Glue the tail to the back of the half circle body piece. Glue one foot in front, one in back overlapping. The same with the thin rectangles for arms.
With the black fine-tip marker, draw two lines on the tips of the feet and arms. Also draw a simple smile. And glue on a googly eye.
Punch 4 hearts out of the red cardstock. Glue 3 onto the dinosaur body.
Glue the 4th heart in the arms of the dinosaur.
Cut out the You Make My Heart Roar Cards, leaving a bit of white border around the card.
Sign name and place in dinosaur pocket, with the humps of the heart poking out like dinosaur spikes.
