Today is my daughter’s birthday and I’m almost lost for words in regards to the occasion. She’s amazingly beautiful and funny with a mouth full of missing teeth and spirals of hair. This summer, she’s really taken to the water, and loves to listen to top 40 pop music when we’re in the car. She also seems to make friends everywhere she goes and is the first to jump up when someone says they need help. For all of this and more, she deserves the best birthday ever with all things FROZEN and our DIY FROZEN Wands Craft.
Because today, my Abby is turning 7. That can’t possibly be right, can it?
Like most 7 year old girls, she also loves all things Frozen. So for this birthday, the impossible 7th, we’re making it a FROZEN theme. It’s a good thing American Greetings has us covered with a full line of party decorations at Walmart. There’s everything from plates to cups to banners and character-themed tiaras, too. I love when all the work is practically done for me.
I also picked up store bought cupcakes, and thus, we need a fun FROZEN-themed cupcake stand. And I just so happened to come up with a great way to show off our birthday cupcakes while also serving as our table centerpiece and wand holder, using some of the American Greetings party supplies I picked up at Walmart.
Oh yeah, we’re making Elsa-inspired princess wands, too.
For the FROZEN Cupcake Holder Table Centerpiece, simply place a FROZEN dinner plate on top of a FROZEN Party Cup. Place a 9 oz. FROZEN cup in the center of that plate. Fill the cup halfway with beans or rice to give it some weight, then add cotton balls for a “snow” effect. This will hold your FROZEN Party Wands.
This DIY FROZEN Wands Craft can be used as a fun party craft, party favors, and decoration all in one. You simply need lollipop sticks, ribbon, and snowflakes. I found these great snowflake buttons in the craft aisle at Walmart that were great to make wands with.
DIY FROZEN Wands Craft
Supplies needed:
- lollipop sticks
- blue and white ribbon
- snowflake
- scissors
Cut a long piece of blue and white ribbon for each wand. Wrap one color and knot it in the back.
Wrap your other ribbon on top of the first and around the snowflake. Tie it in a knot, too. If your ribbon strands are too long, snip off excess to desired length.

What cute wands and wand holder! Walmart is the best for great party decor that doesn’t break the bank. Happy birthday to your sweet girl!
So best birthday ever? Well, I quit having birthday parties after I turned 9 because we moved from Florida to Alaska with our mom and we spent summers in Florida with our dad. As luck would have it, my birthday was in the summertime, and I didn’t have any friends in his town, so I didn’t have a birthday party again until I turned 30! True, sad story. Prior to 30, my best birthday was my 9th birthday when I got one of those awesome Girl Talk phones where someone could eavesdrop from the bottom of the phone while you talked. It was dope. 🙂 #client
