Easy Paper Cactus Craft
When it comes to plants, I’m more along the lines of a cactus. Though I’ve been known to have issues with those, too. I can apparently keep a kid alive, but not a houseplant. For anyone like me, this super Easy Paper Cactus Craft doesn’t require sunlight or water or care of any kind and it always stays green.
Simple paper crafts are always some of my easy favorites. The kind that doesn’t require very many more supplies. We still adore this Simple Paper Turtle Craft and these Simple Folded Paper Owls are definitely tops on our list, too. There’s no folding with our Paper Cactus Craft, but it does require some rolling.
For our Paper Cactus Craft you will most importantly need colorful cardstock in green as well as a variety of colors for the cactus pots. You will also need a white marker, a black marker, scissors, and a stapler to really make it easy. If you’re worried about possible finger pokes from the staples, I’m sure you could use clear tape instead.
Easy Paper Cactus Craft
Supplied needed:
- Cardstock – green, blue, orange, red, etc.
- White and black markers
- Scissors
- Stapler
Begin by making white dashes along a sheet of green cardstock.
Simply make the white dashes all over at random angles. Then cut about a 2” strip and cut the rest of the cardstock in half.
From the strip of cardstock, cut petal shapes for the cactus limbs.
Now, roll the green cardstock around itself as tight as you’d like. Staple closed.
With the staple part as the back of the cactus, make 2 slits of different lengths 1 on each side of the green cardstock roll.
Insert the cactus limb paper pieces into the slits. Staple the slits closed right above the limb pieces. This should also keep the limbs in place.
Cut about a 3” strip from the colors of cardstock for the pot. Draw a line at the top with a black marker.
Staple the pot piece to the cactus at the back, where the cactus is stapled together.
Then wrap around the cactus. Secure with another staple.
