Ever since the weather has been warm enough this summer break, one of our favorite things to do has been splash in our backyard pool. The kids can’t get enough of the water, and honestly, neither can I.
After a day spent in the pool, though, whether lounging in a floatie where you’ll usually find me or doing backflips with their snorkling masks on as the kids now love to do, the last thing I want to get out of the pool for is to head to the kitchen to cook a large, time-consuming meal. We all want a dinner that’s effortless.
Thankfully, Walmart has it covered.
Located at the front of the store are these Effortless Meal displays, with Coke and Walmart’s own Marketside rotisserie chickens. Available in a number of varieties with different seasonings, I love rotisserie chickens because they’re so versatile.
Along with the Marketside rotisserie chicken, I also picked up a 2 liter of Coke, because while my kids don’t drink soda, the adults in the family do. Not only that, but I can make a simple barbecue sauce to drizzle over the shredded pieces of rotisserie chicken for quick and easy Coke BBQ Sandwiches! At a picnic pool-side, of course! I also picked up 16 oz bottles for truly effortless drinking.
As much as I love barbecue sauce, though, we really do use just a drizzle of it since it is summer and you don’t want a heavy sandwich after a day in the pool.
You can always pour the barbecue sauce in a mason jar and let your picnic-mates add as little or as much as they want.
A simple side of baked chips and you have a delicious effortless picnic meal that will get you out of the kitchen and back outside with your family within minutes!
