There is nothing better than ice cream on a warm summer day. It’s a glorious part of childhood. With the sound of the ice cream truck and his familiar tune as he makes his way closer, when everyone gets to pick their cool treat. I always loved that sound when I was a kid, and my kids go crazy for it now, too. I mean, literally crazy. They lose their ice cream-loving minds.
But there’s no need to wait for the ice cream truck. We can just go to our local Walgreens, where all of our favorite Unilever brands and flavors are there waiting. From Klondike bars to Popsicles, there’s something for the kid in all of us.
I love shopping at Walgreens. It’s our go-to stop for prescriptions and medications, but it’s also really convenient when I don’t want to have to run into a grocery store or super center for a quick item or two.
As an end of summer break treat, I went to Walgreens to pick up some ice cream for a family ice cream break. I was hoping to be able to enjoy our treats outside. Naturally, Mother Nature would have other plans as it’s been raining all weekend. Thus, the furthest we could go was our porch steps, as everything else was wet. But really, ice cream is good anywhere when it comes down to it.
My kids are big fans of chocolate. I have no idea where they acquired such tastes. Actually, yes, I know exactly where. I’m a huge fan of chocolate, too. So I made sure to pick up lots of chocolate flavors, mixed with fruity Fruttare Fruit Bars. Personally, my favorite are the Magnum Infinity Chocolate Bars, while my kids couldn’t get enough of the Klondike Bars. So many yummy ice cream treats!
They really liked their ice cream treats and we had such a fun time together during our little family ice cream run. It was a great, and delicious, farewell to summer break. Now, we can start getting ready for school to start back up again!
