Halloween calls for ghoulishly fun treats. It’s the one time of year when you can go all out and eating goodies covered in candy slime or white chocolate eyeballs are not only the norm, but a requisite. Because when it comes to kids, the creepier the better.
And speaking of eyeballs, I had a bloody good eye-dea using Snack Pack. Snack Pack comes in a variety of flavors, which makes it the perfect base for endless mix-in opportunities that the kids can help prepare. Each serving of Snack Pack is fortified with as much calcium as an 8-oz glass of milk, so you can feel good about serving them to your kids. And your kids will feel good eating them. Even when they’re covered with eyeballs. Maybe especially then.
I made sure to pick up a couple packs of Snack Pack in vanilla flavor while at Meijer. I also grabbed all the mix-ins I would need to make our Eye See You Halloween pudding cup treat. These ingredients included blueberries, strawberry syrup, and white chocolate bark.
This is going to be good! And easy, too. First, you need to make your Eye See You white chocolate bloodshot eyeballs. To do this, simply melt white chocolate bark in the microwave in 30 second increments. You need to be careful, however, as bark burns easily. Lay out a sheet of wax paper and spoon bark into a plastic sandwich bag. Cut just a bit of the corner from the sandwich bag and form circles on the wax paper. Take some strawberry syrup, you can put this in another sandwich bag with just a tip of the corner snipped off, and apply just a few dots or lines on each circle of bark. Then take a toothpick and swirl it around. Place a blueberry in the center of each. Let those set.
While the white chocolate eyeballs are setting, prepare your Snack Pack cups. Put a few drops of strawberry syrup on the top of each cup and swirl it around. You could add some chocolate shavings, too, before topping each Snack Pack with blueberries.
The blueberries act as extra pupils in the “bloodshot†pudding. Place a white chocolate eyeball in the blueberries.
For even more eye-mazing goodness, I glued a few small googly eyes to each cup. I also made Eye See You Happy Halloween! printables. I punched out both sides, then made another small hole on top of the two that were then tied to lollipop sticks. Then, I stuck those in the pudding behind our eyeballs just for a friendly touch.
Your kids probably never had any idea that blueberries could be so fun! And gross! But that’s why they’re fun!
