Fork Painted Lions Craft
Lions! With bow ties! That was pretty much my idea when we started making this Fork Painted Lions Craft. They would be so fun for Father’s Day, too. And they came out so good! I get such a kick out of these cards every time I look at them.
Even if the only jungle you know is home, this lion craft is fun. A crazy, loud, monkeys swinging from trees kind of jungle. Just my house? No matter, you will love these cards! Complete with a bow tie, which makes the fork painted lion look as if he got dressed up to get his picture taken. That’s the part that cracks me up.

For our Fork Painted Lions Craft you will need cardstock in blue, yellow, and fun colors for the bow ties. We used polka dot paper. Then, yellow and brown paint, a fork, small googly eyes, a black sharpie, a 2” hole punch, scissors, and a glue stick.
Fork Painted Lions Craft
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock – blue, yellow, assorted colors
- Acrylic paint – yellow, brown
- Fork
- Googly eyes, small
- Black sharpie
- 2” hole punch
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Begin with a full sheet of blue cardstock. Cut in half.
Then fold that half in half so they’re small cards. You can make these bigger if you like.
Take your paint and pour into a flat tray. We like to use paper plates for this. We used yellow and brown paint, but you can also use orange. Dip the tines of the fork into the yellow paint and begin painting a circle towards the top of the card.
Also paint from the circle to the bottom of the card.
Make 2 circles from the yellow cardstock. We used our 2” circle punch but you can also just cut out a 2” circle. The other circle we cut in half then rounded the edges of the triangles to form cat ears.
Fill in inside the ear with the black sharpie. Also draw a mouth and whiskers with the black sharpie.
Glue the ears to the back of the circle. Glue to the center of the fork painted circle.
Now, fork paint some brown lines over the edges of the circle into the yellow.
Adhere googly eyes and let the paint dry.
Once dry, cut a bow tie shape out of the colorful paper.
Add a couple detail lines with the black sharpie. Glue below the lion’s face. And now you can write a message on the inside of the card.
I’m sure you’ll have a roaring good time with this one! Be sure to check out more of our Father’s Day craft ideas at Our Kid Things!
