Felt Melting Snowman Craft
We got hit with our first snow of the season, an early season, more than a week ago and it’s just now finally melting. So it seems a perfect time to share this Felt Melting Snowman Craft!
This Felt Melting Snowman Craft is really fun to make, with buttons, the scarf, and top hat in a felt puddle. But what I truly adore are the addition of small sticks taken from the backyard used for his arms, just like any real snowman would have. Any time I can incorporate supplies from nature in our crafts, it makes the finished product that much more special. And cheap!
For our Felt Melting Snowman Craft you will need black and white felt, an orange pipe cleaner, red ribbon, googly eyes, white poms, buttons, skinny tree branches, black acrylic paint, and glue.

Supplies needed:
- Felt – black and white
- Orange Pipe Cleaner
- Red Ribbon
- Googly Eyes
- White Poms
- Buttons
- Skinny Tree Branches
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Hot Glue or Elmer’s Glue
Take the white poms and glue on 2 eyes each. Cut the orange pipe cleaner into small pieces to represent the carrot nose and glue on.
Then paint a smile of 4-5 dots of black paint to represent the mouth. Let Dry.
Take the white felt and cut out odd shape circles to represent the melting snow. Mine were about 3-4 inches. Then with the black felt, cut out small top hats. Glue the head and hat towards the top on the white melting snow felt.
Cut about 3-4 inches of red ribbon, fold in half and glue at the top. Then, cut small “arms” off the tree branches. Glue each of those to the melting snow.
Lastly, glue on 3 buttons to each one.
You now have a cute little Melting Snowman! Can be turned into an ornament as well with a bit of string hot glued to the back. Be sure to find more fun winter ideas at Our Kid Things!
