Foil Hearts Cards
There are a few different supplies that I love coming up with ideas for crafting with. Aluminum foil is one of them. I think it’s because of the shiny and the crinkly and how it molds around anything it needs to. All of those reasons come into effect, plus a rainbow of fun color, in our Foil Hearts Cards.
These Foil Hearts Cards are an absolutely adorable Valentine’s Day craft. Other aluminum foil crafts we’ve made include our Aluminum Foil Owl Craft, Aluminum Foil Yarn Flower Ornaments, Aluminum Foil Stars, Foil Fruit Charm Bracelet, and our Microphone Craft.
Punch out some hearts using another of my favorite supplies for this time of year, a heart paper punch. Then wrap with aluminum foil. Glue hearts onto a card of cardstock and decorate with colorful fine-point markers. Now, how absolutely fun is that? You can make a whole batch for classmates, friends, and family, and write sweet Happy Valentine’s Day messages on back. Colorful, shiny, and so lovely. I really do adore this craft idea!
Foil Hearts Cards
Supplies needed:
- white cardstock cards
- aluminum foil
- heart hole punch
- glue
- fine-tip markers in assorted colors
You can either get 3×5 plain unlined index cards or do what we had to do and make your own by cutting sheets of cardstock.
Also punch a bunch of hearts from the white cardstock. You’ll need 5 for each card.
Using pieces of aluminum foil just larger than the hearts, begin wrapping and forming around each of the hearts.
Glue in place on the card. Decorate with markers.
It’s such a simple idea, but it really is one of my favorites! I love the colors from the markers, the shininess of the foil, and how the hearts raise from the card. There’s nothing here not to like and I hope you enjoy them just as much as we do. Be sure to check out more fun kids Valentine’s Day craft and recipe ideas at Our Kid Things!
