Folded Paper Black Cat Craft
I’m a cat person, through and through. I’ve had the pleasure of sharing our space with a number of feline friends over the years, and I’ve always said that I could easily be an old crazy cat lady. And for the Halloween season, I’m a black cat person. They’re given a bad rap this time of year. Though you don’t need to be an old crazy cat lady to love this Folded Paper Black Cat Craft!
This isn’t our first cat craft, either. This Cork Cats Craft which is a fun animal craft with a curly pipe cleaner tail. And we made this Paper Plate Cat Craft with inspiration from our own black and white cat.
For Folded Paper Black Cat Craft you will need black cardstock, small googly eyes, metallic marker pens, scissors, glue, and a stapler.
Folded Paper Black Cat Craft
Supplies needed:
- Black cardstock
- Small googly eyes
- Metallic marker pens
- Scissors
- Glue
- Stapler
Begin with a full sheet of black cardstock.
Cut the sheet of black cardstock in half lengthwise into a long rectangle.
Take one half and fold a corner down into a triangle. Do the same on the other side.
Fold the triangles up across the rest of the cardstock.
Do the same on the other side, where both sides meet at a point in the center.
Now flip over. You should have a cat head shape with ears.
Use the metallic pens to draw a pink nose, mouth, and whiskers. Glue on googly eyes. Then set aside.
For the body, fold the other half of the cardstock the same as you started the cat’s face. Except cut away where it folds, to form a trapezoid.
With one of the pieces that were cut away, cut a wavy tail shape. Leave a flat bottom edge so the cat can stand. And decorate both the body and tail with the metallic pens.
Once decorated, wrap both ends of the body around back and staple together.
Tuck the tail into where the body is stapled and staple the tail to the body, as well.
Finally, position the stapler into the folds on the back of the head piece and staple both sides to the top of the body piece.
This is such a fun craft for Halloween, or just for fun! A great way to get creative! Be sure to check out more of our Halloween craft ideas at Our Kid Things!
