Footprint Flip Flops Craft
Break out those bare feet and flip flops for warm summer weather and our super cute Footprint Flip Flops Craft! This is such a fun summer craft where kids can get creative and make their own unique hot weather-ready footwear, with just a few essential craft supplies.

Not only is this a darling footprint craft, but it’s also a really fun yarn weaving craft. The straps of the flip flops are made with yarn weaved in and out of 3 holes, in your colors of choice, of course. So they’re cute, fun, and great for hand/eye coordination, too! No better way to beat the summer heat!

Summer Flip Flops Footprint Craft
To make our footprint flip flops craft that you’re sure to flip for, you’re going to need heavy cardstock in your colors of choice. Along with sheets of plain colored cardstock, we also used polka dot colored cardstock. Use any kind of cardstock you’d like, but it needs to be heavy cardstock.

You will also need yarn in your colors of choice, a single hole punch, scissors, decorations, and tape.
Footprint Flip Flops Craft Supplies Needed
- Cardstock – colors of choice
- Yarn – colors of choice
- Single hole punch
- Decorations – markers, paper flowers, etc.
- Scissors
- Tape
Flip Flops Footprint Craft Step by Step Directions
Begin by gathering the color cardstock of choice.

Trace the footprint on the cardstock. You will need both footprints.

Cut out the footprints.

If you want, decorate your flip flops. We used metallic markers and paper flower embellishments.

Now, make 3 holes in the footprint with the hole punch. One hole between the big and second toe. The other two holes are almost halfway down the foot, on either side. Make sure your hole punches are not right at the edge so they’re sturdier and less likely to pull the yarn through.

Next, cut a long strand of yarn. We just guessed the length, and were able to get about 5 passes through the holes. You can make yours as long as you’d like, and if you need more you can always add to it. Tape the beginning of the yarn to the back of the footprint.

Then, pull the yarn in and through the holes, so that only the two strips are shown. Like flip flop straps.

Continue pulling the yarn through until finished.

Tape the end of the yarn to the back of the footprint, as well.

Repeat the yarn steps for the other footprint.

So stylish! You’re going to flip for this craft!
