Galaxy Bark
When you start to think about how small we are in the grand scheme of our universe, it’s rather humbling. There’s just so much to learn about the space we live in. An easy way to start the discussion is by getting the kids in the kitchen for a batch of our Galaxy Bark!
Of course, you don’t have to turn our Galaxy Bark into a lesson about planets, dwarf planets, stars, nebulas, the Milky Way, black holes, and just the cosmos. There’s so much more, but i’s a lot to take in and we’re pretty fascinated by it all at our house. It could just be an easy tasty treat that kids can prepare by themselves with only minimal supervision that’s also rather beautiful to look at, too.
For our Galaxy Bark you will need a number of different colored candy melts. Black, purple, dark blue, and light blue make the base of our galaxy. Then, add small gold star sprinkles and nonpareil sprinkles in white and blue for a shimmery spanse of stars.
Melt the black chocolate per package directions and spread over a parchment lined baking sheet. Then, melt each of the other colors of chocolate and put dots of it all over the black chocolate.
Take a knife and swirl the colors around. Make sure you don’t over swirl the colors, you still want to see plenty of the black chocolate. Finally, sprinkle the nonpareils and the gold stars all over the chocolate.
Let the chocolate harden and then break it into pieces.
And you’ve made a tasty batch of Galaxy Bark that’s out of this world!
