I participated in a program for Milk Unleashed through The Motherhood and will be compensated for my time. All opinions are mine.
Without exaggerating one bit, it’s safe to say I think my kids were cows in a past life. They drink that much milk. Though I’m not sure how much milk cows actually drink, but you get the idea.
So maybe that is an exaggeration. My kids, though, they love milk.
They would also take a container of milk with them everywhere if they could, but I never thought that was possible. Until I was fortunate enough to learn about shelf safe milk thanks to a program through Milk Unleashed.

Shelf safe milk is an easy and nutritious way to provide real milk anytime, anywhere without the need for refrigeration until the package is opened. It’s the same nutritional profile as regular milk, in fact it is real milk, just processed and packaged in a different way. Shelf safe milk is pasteurized at an Ultra High Temperature for a shorter time. Then, to preserve taste and nutrition, it is immediately put into a sterile, opaque Tetra Pak shelf-safe carton that keeps out light, air and harmful contaminants. The packaging is 70% paper and thus recyclable; aluminum foil is used to keep out oxygen and prevent spoiling. The thin layer of plastic used in the lining is BPA-free.
Because of this process, the result is milk that is definitely more environmentally friendly and that lasts up to six months without refrigeration or preservatives! Once opened, the life of the milk is about a week or so, the same as refrigerator milk.

The greatest benefit to shelf safe milk, besides the nutrition, is the convenience. This milk can go anywhere you want it to go, whether that be in your pantry for recipes, car trips or camping. Shelf safe milk is also great to keep in an emergency kit, which is something I really need to put together.
I found shelf safe milk in my grocery store in the baking aisle. They had a lot of different brands and flavors to choose from. With how much my kids love milk, I’m sure we’ll be trying all of them!
We should all have a big stash of this milk in our homes
