Cheeseburgers. They really are my favorite food group. Yes, they deserve a group of their own. I know I won’t ever get any complaints at dinner with cheeseburgers. And there are so many different ways to make them, too. I could go all Bubba Gump in Forrest Gump when he’s describing shrimp here, but I’m sure you can come up with a few varieties without that much detail.
Cheeseburger with shrimp. There’s an idea.
Our favorite kind of cheeseburger lately is a ground chicken burger. Not only is it better-for-you than hamburger, but it tastes great, too. Normally, we #SayCheeseburger with just a patty and cheese. It’s an easy and simple weeknight meal. I may grill some mushrooms for mine, while the kids like theirs just like that, with only a bit of mayonnaise. Then, it dawned on me. A Ground Chicken Cordon Bleu BBQ Burger. Made using Kraft cheese and products, because is there any other way?
Making a trip to Walmart for my ingredients, I picked up two different kinds of Kraft cheeses. The first was Kraft Natural Mozzarella Slices. I also picked up a Kraft shredded Italian cheese blend to incorporate throughout my ground chicken for extra cheesiness. Because you can never have enough cheese. Then, I grabbed a jar of Kraft Mayonnaise as well as a bottle of Kraft BBQ Sauce for even more flavor. Of course, I also added a pound of ground chicken, deli-style sliced ham, and kaiser buns to my cart to complete everything I needed.
These Ground Chicken Cordon Bleu BBQ Burgers are so easy to make. Place your ground chicken in a bowl. Add in a handful, I used around a cup, of the shredded cheese. Mix it all together. Form your patties. I can get 5 medium-sized burgers out of 1 pound of ground chicken for us, but it all depends on how big you want your burgers. Then, in a pan with lightly coated with olive oil, gently add your patties.
Season with salt, pepper and I use a Montreal Chicken seasoning blend. Also spoon and spread your Kraft BBQ sauce before you flip your patties.
When your chicken burgers are about done, it only takes 10-15 minutes, top with a slice or two of the deli-style ham and your Kraft Naturals Mozzarella cheese. Cover so the cheese melts and gets all gooey.
Smear top buns with Kraft Mayonnaise. Or bottom and top. Or just smear the mayo everywhere because I do love mayonnaise.
These burgers were such a hit. I’ve honestly never seen my 8 year old eat scarf down his food quite like that before. All my kids exclaimed, “These are so good!â€. I tried to get a picture of them enjoying their burgers, actually, but my kids were eating them so fast that they all turned out blurry.
